how to invest in a recession

What do you think is the best thing to do in this current credit crunch or recession? What is going to happen, do you think that we are heading into another great depression, is it that bad? How long do you think it will last?

I have a little bit of money saved up and I don't have any debt really so what do you think I should do? Is now a good time to buy property or to invest in the stock market, or do you think I should just keep my money safe and wait and see what happens?
